Yes, I have seen a good mixture in photos, probably a good idea to bring the BD if youve got it, hmm.. maybe I can ask for a set for Valentines instead of chocolate, sure she'll be fine with that?

I think a few pople are going in KD or a mix of stuff. I will probably be in BD trousers and a jumper, although it partly depends on the weather. If it is pouring with rain and freezing cold I'll be in nice warm wools.

Wasn't going to bother with unit and formation signs.

Not particularly looking forward to brushing the chalk (white mud?) off afterwards. I've still got chalk on some stuff from last time at UCAP and the ground was frozen solid then.

Cheers
Martin

KD Shorts and shirt for me... with a BD top as well if it's cooler.

Though I'll bring BD trousers, KD trousers, jumper and leather jerkin just in case,

Maybe a greatcoat as well, heh!

Oh and possibly a KD bush jacket.

I have the whole lot so may as well bring it. :)

Yer Im generally the sort of person that will wear my khaki trench coat in cold weather anyway because its the warmest coat I have! Royal artillery, not dated, but I'm sure you lads could hazard a guess,

While were on the subject of KD, anyone got a good ways on making the kit look more sun bleached short of washing it a few times? There isn't much sun about to do it properly at the moment, in fact I think its snowing... :slap:

I'll be wearing KD, i think tbh the more of us that do the better... seems a real shame to do a med/dessie type game and wear what we wear every event! :)

KD generally didnt have insignia as it was laundered so often it got destroyed. Anything you do put on really should be put on with poppers or slip ons.

Its going to be May at the game and the sites pretty sheltered so unless we have the worst may in history a greatcoat might be a little excessive (and impossible to feel any hits through).

I will be coming in kd with my bd blouse strapped to my small pack just in case it gets cold or starts pissing it down.
Would it be correct if I covered my helmet in mud when I get there instead of painting it tan? I have heard that it was done but I want a second opinion.

Mud will generally dry to a light tan and is a lot easier to get off than paint!

I'm just putting a hessian cover under a brown net on mine.

Cheers

Ok thanks I'll go with mud, I did try a Hessian cover wore it for a day and bits of fluff kept getting in my eyes and on my contact lenses so they're not too practical for me.

Another question lads,
I have the option of both vertical or horizontal fore grip on my Thompson, though the barrels not finned, which would be right for Crete? with my barrel not being finned i was thinking horizontal but i find vertical more comfortable.

We seem to have (currently anyway), 28 British booked on for this, an entire platoon!

I was going to bring my Bren along and I wondered if anyone else was bringing any support weapons so we can have more realistic weapon mix? For Crete though, perhaps one MG per platoon is about right.... :)

Cheers
